In the last three years, the Baga City government has completed more than 400 infrastructure projects worth almost PHP700 million.
In his State of the City Address (SOCA) on Tuesday at Event Center 1, Sta. Cruz New Development Area, Sta. Cruz, Mayor Nelson Legacion reported the projects, accomplishments, and recognitions that the LGU has achieved since 2019.
“It proves [based on] the record of the City Engineer’s Office and Special Concerns Office for 478 projects of the government in the whole city from June 2019 until 2022 that have a total amount of PHP664.3 million),” he said.
The city also completed building a sanitary landfill in the city’s Barangay San Isidro that shut down the operation of the 50-year-old Balatas dumpsite.
“We established and opened one new elementary school and three high schools in addition to the existing construction of school buildings, amid the pandemic – in response to the requests of our parents and the community,” he said.
He also noted the 18.7 hectares of land amounting to PHP1.3 billion that was given by the private sector to the city government for its flagship projects.
He thanked all the sponsors and donors for the support they have given for the implementation of these projects and commended the dedication and services of the Naga City Hall employees. (PNA)
