It will be an all-out celebration for the 73rd founding anniversary of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday as various activities are in store for residents and tourists alike.
Proclamation 373 issued on Oct. 18 by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, by the authority of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., declared a special non-working holiday in Oriental Mindoro.
On the other hand, Republic Act 11123 issued in 2018 declared Nov. 15 of every year a non-working day in Occidental Mindoro.
The celebration in Oriental Mindoro is dubbed “Fiesta MaHalTa Na,” representing Mangyan, Halcon, Tamaraw and Naujan Lake.
Celebrations already started on Monday.
On Wednesday, there will be a street party, concert and fireworks display at the provincial capitol grounds.
In Occidental Mindoro, the Arawatan Festival began on Oct. 31.
The province will pay homage to one of its big money-making industries through the biggest tuna catch challenge.
The Tinig, Galaw at Talentong (Voice, Movement and Talent) Mindoreño Season 3 and a variety show with guest performers will cap the weeklong celebration. (PNA)
