The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and its key shelter agencies (KSAs) have stepped up the implementation of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, launching simultaneous housing initiatives in Valenzuela City and Cavite to accelerate homeownership for thousands of Filipinos.

In a news release on Thursday, the DHSUD reported that the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) awarded more than PHP47 million in housing assistance in Valenzuela City, while the National Housing Authority (NHA) broke ground for two major projects in Naic, Cavite.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the intensified rollout reflects the administration’s commitment to providing dignified living spaces as a tool for poverty reduction following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s order.

“Hindi lamang ito pagtatayo ng mga bahay. Ito ay pagbibigay ng bagong pag-asa at pagkakataon sa ating mga kababayan na magkaroon ng maayos, ligtas, at may dignidad na pamumuhay (This is not just about building houses. It is about providing new hope and opportunity for our countrymen to have an orderly, safe, and dignified life),” he added.

In Valenzuela City, Aliling and SHFC President Federico Laxa led the turnover of checks amounting to PHP47.6 million to the Archangel Sword II Homeowners’ Association, Inc. in Barangay Lawang Bato on Wednesday.

The financial assistance, provided under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), will facilitate the land acquisition for 256 member beneficiaries who have occupied the area for nearly 20 years.

Since the revival of the ECMP under the 4PH framework, the SHFC has approved 45 projects nationwide, benefiting more than 7,700 families.

Simultaneously, the NHA led the groundbreaking for the Naic View Residences Phase 2 and Glori Mor Ville Phase 2 in Barangay Calubcob, Naic, Cavite.

The two projects will yield 590 housing units intended for families displaced by government infrastructure projects and those affected by the Supreme Court Mandamus for the Manila Bay rehabilitation.

DHSUD Undersecretary Roman Nicholo Molina, representing Aliling, also led the awarding of land titles to qualified beneficiaries of existing NHA programs, including recipients of fully paid house-and-lot units.

Aliling noted that these integrated efforts across various agencies are designed to ensure that no Filipino is left behind in the quest for secure shelter.

“Patuloy nating palalawakin ang mga proyektong pabahay upang lahat ay mabigyan ng pagkakataon na magkaroon ng sariling tahanan – isang pundasyon ng mas maginhawa, maayos, at may dignidad na kinabukasan (We will continue to expand our housing projects to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity for homeownership – a vital foundation for a more prosperous and dignified future),” he added.
