The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Antique is calling on the support of stakeholders for the 2025 Brigada Eskwela set for June 9-13, in time for the school opening.
“We encourage the stakeholders to support the advocacy with the school opening already on June 16,” DepEd Antique Curriculum and Teaching Division chief Dr. Edward Baña said in an interview on Friday.
Brigada Eskwela is an annual maintenance activity that will prepare the schools for the opening of classes.
It will kick off with a program at the Moscoso Rios National High School in Barangay Guinsang-an, Hamtic, on June 9.
Whelannie Tolentino, Education Program Specialist II assigned with the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit, said 35 secondary schools in Antique need around 500 learner’s armchairs since some schools are expected to have increased enrolment this school year 2025-2026.
“Other stakeholders could also donate painting and cleaning materials,” she said.
Tolentino further said those who would like to join may coordinate with the DepEd Antique for their commitment and to choose from their menu or list of needs of schools that they would like to provide. (PNA)
