The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has processed so far nearly 1 million applications for voters’ registration.

According to the poll body’s latest data, as of Dec. 14, the running total of applications received nationwide is 962,615.

Of the number, 743,814 are applying as voters for the village polls, while a total of 218,801 are looking to become youth voters.

The Comelec also received a total of 262,974 applications as new registrants, aged 18 years and above.

The poll body also said a total of 277,070 individuals have applied for transfer from other city/municipality; 59,096 people have applied for transfer within the same city/municipality; and 38,572 are looking to reactivate their registration.

A total of 218,801 applications for registration have been received for Sangguniang Kabataan voters, or those aged 15 to 17 years.

Other applications received are 918 for transfer from other city/municipality; 279 for transfer within the same city/municipality; and 3,284 for correction of entries.

The voters’ registration period resumed on Oct. 20, 2025 and will run until May 18, 2026.

The Comelec estimated to register 1.4 million new voters for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) set to be held in November 2026. (PNA)
