A four-day fair called “ALUNSINA: Kabuhayan Convention and Bazaar” opened at Robinsons Mall here on Monday afternoon, showcasing over 300 products from Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) groups from across the Caraga Region.
The products will be on display from Dec. 1 to 4 under the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)13 (Caraga).
Local products include handicrafts and processed foods made by the talents, creativity, and hard work of SLP associations.
The booth from Agusan del Sur province showcases handicrafts created by 10 SLP associations from various towns, along with 10 individuals who received livelihood grants from the same program.
“Buyers come and buy some items, especially handicrafts and food items,” said May May Ybanez, one of the project development officers manning the Agusan del Sur booth, in an interview on Tuesday.
She added that when the SLP association and individuals send their products for display, they also expect to make a profit from the fair.
“I am certain that we could bring enough sales for our SLP associations after four days of the fair. During the opening day on Monday, we sold over PHP10,000 products to our buyers,” Ybanez said.
She noted that the various booths sold products worth over PHP62,000 on the opening day. (PNA)
