What if the scariest part of a monster wasn’t just what you see – but what it leaves behind? In Philippine folklore, the ‘manananggal’ is a nightmarish creature that splits itself in half, with its upper body soaring into the night in search of prey.

Now, Monster High is putting a fashionable yet fearsome twist on this chilling legend with Corazon Marikit, a doll that fuses Filipino mythology with the franchise’s signature spooky-glam aesthetic.

Monster High has unveiled its new ghoul – Corazon Marikit – as part of its designer series Skullector line, which celebrates diverse cultural legends. Inspired by the Philippines’ manananggal and its terrifying ability to detach at the waist, the doll is uniquely designed to do the same, making it one of the most hauntingly dynamic additions to the Monster High universe.

Corazon Marikit’s design masterfully blends traditional Filipino elements with gothic flair. She wears a modernized Filipinian outfit adorned with foil prints, fringe details, and striking bat wings.

Jasmine notifs – a nod to the Philippines’ national flower – are woven into her ensemble, adding a delicate touch to her haunting beauty. True to her folkloric inspiration, the doll’s torso can detach her lower half, allowing for eerie yet stunning display options.

Even the packaging is a collector’s dream as it features adjustable levers that let fans pose Corazon in different ways – enhancing the interactive unboxing experience that Monster High collectors and fans love.

@bruh.momento I actually love the Manananggal even more in person!! Thank you @Monster High 🥰#monsterhigh #monsterhighcollection #livingdeadgirl ♬ original sound – lea

The manananggal doll is priced at 75 USD which is around Php 4,200 and is available on Mattel’s website.

With this release, Monster High continues to push the boundaries of cultural representation in the toy industry, giving fans worldwide a chance to embrace and celebrate the eerie elegance of Filipino mythology.
