The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) satellite offices in Bicol are continuously providing convenience to clients in different provinces by eliminating the need to travel far, saving time, money, and effort in accessing the agency’s services.
During Tuesday’s Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas forum at La Piazza Hotel and Convention Center here, NBI Regional Director Claro de Castro Jr. said they have four new satellite offices in addition to the two district offices.
Aside from this, he said they are also “currently in the process of establishing satellite office in Catanduanes. We’re working it out with the local government units (LGUs) there.”
De Castro said the number of the clearances issued by their district offices is in Legazpi City – 4,330; and Naga City – 4,120.
The four satellite offices’ output is Iriga City –1,200; Daet –1,120; Sorsogon City – 1,310, and Masbate City – 1,000.
Camarines Norte Vice Governor Joseph Ascutia expressed gratitude to the NBI for the satellite office installed in their province.
“I am thankful to the NBI because, with their satellite office, our residents who require the services of the NBI can easily obtain clearances. We used to have to go to Naga City to get it, but now it’s here with us in Camarines Norte. It’s a big help because it’s nearby,” Ascutia said.
He added the LGU of Camarines Norte supports the program and services of the agency.
Iriga City Vice Mayor Edsel Dimaiwat also thanked the NBI for the easy access and comfort given to its people through a satellite office in his city.
“It greatly assists our constituents in obtaining clearances, which is a requirement for job searches and other transactions. They save a lot of time now that we have an NBI office here; they no longer need to go to Naga City,” he said.
Dimaiwat said the NBI office in their city also helps in reducing crimes. (PNA)
