Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) scholars in Ilocos Norte who will graduate from bread and pastry production training will receive their livelihood starter kits on Thursday.
TESDA-Ilocos Norte provincial director Socorro Galanto, in a media interview on Wednesday, said at least 15 holders of National Certificate 2 on bread and pastry production, who underwent 10 to 20 days training, will get the starter kits.
“The 15 beneficiaries tomorrow will receive one oven each and one electric mixer, which they can use after their training with the TESDA-accredited Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades,” she said.
Galanto said they are also expecting the delivery of toolkits composed of assembly night lights and post lamps for 40 beneficiaries who trained on solar installation and 60 beneficiaries for organic agriculture at the Banna Provincial Training Center.
In 2023, TESDA allocated 8,529 scholarships for Ilocos Norte. At least 5,644 scholars completed the various training, while the remaining trainees are expected to graduate before end of March this year.
Some of the short-term courses provided by TESDA, which provides national certification (NC), include automotive servicing NCI, cookery NCII, dressmaking NCII and electrical installation and maintenance NCII. (PNA)
